Floral Preservation
Introducing the captivating world of floral preservation, where delicate blooms are transformed into timeless treasures. Each petal, each detail, forever encapsulated in resin's embrace.
How Your Wedding Bouquet is Preserved
The Freshest Flowers are Best
The best results for preserving the most vibrant colors, shapes and textures of your flowers is to dry the freshest flowers possible. It is very important that the bouquet is kept cool and in water. Flowers should be delivered as soon as possible after the wedding or special occasion. Friends or family members can also deliver, ship or courier the bouquet if you are not available. I am also able to pick up flowers at the end of an event if needed.
Quick Tip: To help the flowers take up more water it is also very helpful to recut the stems.
((Please note that wilted, bruised, discolored or crushed petals cannot be reversed in the preservation process.))
Drying the Flowers
Once the bouquet is received, the best florals and greens are carefully and individually dried for approximately 2+ weeks. During the drying and resin process certain colors may change.
Red, pink and purple colors can darken.
White tends to yellow or become cream colored.
Some flowers may appear to have translucent spots in the resin depending on how bruised they were when they were dried. This seems to be most apparent in roses, lilies and orchids. Once all the botanicals are dry, a creative design is made in the mold and emailed or texted for approval.
Pouring the Resin
The next step is pouring the resin. Over a number of days, many fine layers are carefully poured over the very delicate floral ingredients. Each layer of resin must set before the next layer is poured. The resin is generally poured to approximately 2 inches in depth to cover your flowers.
Drying and Curing
Lastly, once the pouring is complete, your Resin Bouquet will dry for approx. 7 days to ensure that it is completely hardened and cured, after which it will be sanded, polished and photographed. The entire preservation process can take 5 – 12 weeks depending on how many other orders I have and also how many items are in your order. Your patience is very much appreciated!
Important Notes:
I take the utmost care in creating your beautiful preservation, but because Resin Bouquet is original, handmade resin art using very fragile botanical ingredients some small bubbles, imperfections and transparent spots can be expected.
All epoxy resin will eventually amber over time. To delay the process, please keep your preserved Resin Bouquet away from heat or direct sunlight, as you would with any piece of art or original painting.

FAQ?
Which flowers are best for preservation?
Roses, Lavender, Baby’s Breath, Daisies, Chrysanthemums, Pansies, Forget-Me-Nots, Queen Anne's Lace, Succulents:
Will the colors of my flowers look exactly the same in the preservation?
While colors might not match the original flowers perfectly, resin preservation can result in beautiful and long-lasting floral arrangements with unique visual appeal.
Why are there transparent spots on my flowers?
Petals can be bruised at any point during shipping and in transit to the studio. Bruising causes translucent spots on the petals that are not visible until preservation. These spots are an unavoidable result of casting flowers in resin.
Can you preserve my air-dried bouquet?
Both dried and live flowers can be encapsulated in resin. However, live flowers fade in color, and bubbles may form as a result of the plant's natural moisture. Therefore, for the best results, I recommend drying your flowers before encasing them in resin.
Will resin yellow over time?
Yes, resin can yellow over time due to a natural process called "resin yellowing" or "resin aging." This phenomenon occurs when the polymer matrix of the resin undergoes chemical changes, often triggered by exposure to various environmental factors.
Why are there bubbles in my resin?
In order for their survival, organic materials such as flowers receive energy from a chain of reactions called respiration. In other words, they can “breathe air.” When you cover these materials with resin, the air bubbles release in the resin, creating the appearance of bubbles
Can you use artificial flowers?
I can use artificial flowers! We could also do a mix of some artificial and some real flowers if you prefer. Please let me know ahead of time if your bouquet is artificial.
Can I have my extra flowers back?
Yes! However you will need to let me know that you’d like your extra flowers beforehand. If you are not local, you may also need to pay an additional fee for me to ship your extra flowers back to you.
What shipping company do you recommend?
Normally I'd recommend UPS. UPS is the most median priced that gets the flowers to me early in the day. USPS is the cheapest option, but the flowers won’t get to me till near the end of the day. FedEx is always the most expensive, but the flowers get to me early in the morning like UPS. Ultimately, it is up to you!
What is your refund and return policy?
Due to the 100% handmade nature of our art, we do not offer returns or refunds on work that has begun or been completed.
Do you offer workshops or tutorials?
